Brown Deer Results

Well, our Second Team struggled a bit today, finishing 5th with a mere 180 points, our lowest total since September, 2010. More importantly we lost by a whopping 66 points to Brown Deer who won today’s contest with 246 points. We still have a pretty good lead for the season, 62 points over Brown Deer who surged into second place. Whitnall, who was in second up to this match, finished well back with just 150 points today. The bottom line is we need to stay ahead of Brown Deer as we play the last two matches of the season, at Whitnall on July 22 and at our home track on Saturday, August 11.

Four of our players took over 20 points today, Rayfield Johnson and Steve Jaeger with 23 and Corey Mader and Mark Cuthbert with 21. Mike O’Neil was our medalist with 78, while Corey Mader had 80, Cuthbert and Darrell Frenzel 82, and Jack Bruss 84. Dan Webb won a skin with a birdie on the 10th hole.

Kudos go to Brown Deer for having plenty of volunteers and spotters out on the course including our own Kenny Collins, who manned the 9th hole. I trust we will have at least as many helpers at the final match at our house on August 11.
