It was a hot muggy day at Greenfield on Saturday, 6/28, and the last
several groups had to contend with some rain, but the Currie guys handled it well, winning the event and vaulting from third place to first in the season
standings. We took 258 points to leapfrog both
Greenfield and Brown Deer and now lead the season by 35 points over Greenfield,
on a good path toward our goal of a six-peat. Brown Deer had a poor day,
finishing a full 100 points behind us and now resides in 4th place,
89 back.
All but 2 of our guys took 12 or more points, with five
taking 20 or more. Rich Saks led with 24, Steve Amble grabbed 22, Gerry
McGrath and Bill Zolandz captured 21 each, and Steve Jaeger nabbed 20.
Kenny Collins was our medalist with 76, while Doug Bowring and McGrath shot
78. We left the flag events for others as we concentrated on points, and
Billy Z took a skin with a birdie on the 10th.
For the season Bowring and the team captain lead in the points
race with 58 in the first 3 matches, and several guys lurk in striking
distance.
Brian Pederson and Steve Grusczynski did a great job of
getting scores recorded on the big sheet and entered in the spreadsheet in
timely fashion. Kudos to both of them.

There are 2 matches to go this season, the next at our house, the National, on Saturday, July 26. We’ll be looking to have a
big day there, attempting to put a vice grip on first place.
