Club Event at Currie Park Golf Course - Results

Currie Men's Club,

It was a crowded leader-board at the top for Saturday's season ending Stableford event at The National. Congratulations to all the winners. Jessie Alba took the top prize of $80 with 16 points. I might also add that Jesse had the lowest net score in the field, a 6 under par, 65. Bryan Olen was 2nd with 15 points, getting $60, Chuck Garbers was 3rd with 13 points, $40 and Dominic Carini 4th with 10 points, $30. There were 4 players tied with 6 points, each receiving $10, Chris Brock, Darin Bunkers, Gary Zwirlein and Darrell Frenzel. $21 Skins were won by Lee Gardner on 15 and 16, Ken Collins on 9, Dominic Carini on 5 and Jeff Brandt on 6.

Thanks to all the Officers for their time and effort and to all the members for making this a great season. Also thanks to Marcus and Scott for their assistance.

Club Event at Deertrak Golf Club - Results

Currie Competitors,

I heard a lot of positive comments about the course today and I think most of us were pleasantly surprised by the nice layout and good conditions at Deertrak. It's definitely worthy of a return visit. We were paying out the top 3 teams today and interestingly we had 3 teams tie for the top spot at 18 under par. Teams, Cuthbert/Satula/Mader/Sauceda, Bruss/Olen/Wolter/Bowring, Levin/Boulware/Cristan/Alba will each get $80 per team or $20 per man.

Other highlights for the day included a sparkling round by Corey Mader firing a 35-37, 72 which began with 3 birdies. Jake Boulware turned in a 79 which also included 3 birdies in row (#'s 4, 5, and 6) and nearly missing a 4th on #7. Jesse Alba shot an exceptional 82 gross, net 63! Way to golf your ball, Jesse.

8 skins of $12ea. were won by Mader, 3 skins, Boulware 3 skins, Wolter 1 skin, and Sauceda 1 skin.

Second Team at Greenfield - Results

Gentlemen –

The Currie Second Team took care of business today out at Greenfield, not quite winning the event, but maintaining our large season point lead, thus winning the title for our 9^th championship in the last 11 years.  The weather was great, and the goat ranch was in excellent shape with fast greens and some very tough pins.  Oakwood won the event with 229 points, Whitnall was second with 214, and we were 3^rd with 207.  For the year we took 952 points, and Whitnall was a distant second with 807.  Brown Deer finished in third place with 801. 

Four players nabbed over 20 points today, Rich Saks taking all 24, Brian Pederson and Jeff Camosy winning 22 each, and Gerry McGrath grabbing 21.   Saks and Pederson had the rounds of the day for us, 76 and 77 respectively.

Individual awards go to Camosy for a skin on 5, McGrath for a skin on 17,  and yours truly for longest putt on 18.

Phil Levin was our points leader for the season winning 72 points in the 4 matches, an average of 18.  Saks was second with 68 points, and Bill Zolandz and Camosy tied for 3^rd with 65.  Twenty five members participated on the season, with an average points per match per man of 14.9.  Thanks to all of you.

Thanks also go to Saks, Zolandz, and Pederson for handling all the scoreboard duties today in the absence of Greenfield personnel to do so.
