Second Team at Currie Park Golf Course - Results

Gentlemen –

Well, we gave it a good effort today, but we couldn’t quite win the event at our home course. We had 129 points, a good number, but Oakwood took 131 to win the event. Greenfield was third with 115 and Grant was fourth with 109. For the season Oakwood has moved into first place, and we and Grant are tied for second place, just 7 points back. Greenfield is fourth, 35 points behind us. There are 2 matches left, at Greenfield and Whitnall, both in August. That is plenty of time for us to take our rightful place at the top of the standings.

Three of our players took 17 of 18 points, Gerry McGrath, Jeff Camosy, and Dave Ullenberg. Darrell Frenzel took 14 and Phil Levin 13. Levin and Steve Jaeger were our medalists with 74, and Ullenberg carded 76. We didn’t take any hole prizes, but Frenzel took a skin with a birdie on the ninth .
