The Currie Second Team dominated at Greenfield Park today, winning our second straight event while taking 142 points. Three teams tied for second place with 115 points. We are now alone in first place with 407 points, 27 ahead of Oakwood and 60 ahead of last years champ, Greenfield.
It was a real team effort with eight of our 12 players grabbing 12 or more points, three of them, Gerry McGrath, Dom Carini, and Doug Bowring, taking the maximum 18. Four of our guys broke 80, Dom leading with 76. McGrath and Steve Jaeger shot 77, and Mark Cuthbert hit 78. We took several individual awards including skins for Frenzel and yours truly with birdies on 17 and 12 respectively, closest to the pin on 6 for Jeff Camosy, longest putt on 2 for Bowring, and a shocker, longest drive on 17 for Frenzel. What? True that.
The golf course was in great shape, the greens were very good, and it was a joy to play. The event was run very efficiently and thanks to Director Pederson and the Greenfield staff for that.
Our next match will be at our house on Saturday, July 30th, with high handicappers going out first.
If you played today, remember to post your scores, as it will not be done for you.
The usual summaries are listed below.
Thanks,
Jack
