MCPLA Team Match at Brown Deer Park Golf Course - Results

Gentlemen –

The Currie team had a good showing down at Brown Deer today, winning the event with 133 points. Brown Deer finished just 2 points behind us with 131, Grant Park was third with 120, and Greenfield was fourth with 108. That leaves us in first place for the season, 38 points ahead of Greenfield and 63 ahead of Grant, as we head to the final match, which will be held at Grant on Saturday, August 17th. It’s a nice lead we have built up over the summer, but we, of course, will not go into the final overconfident.

High point man today was Dave Ullenberg with all 18 points. Brian Pederson took 17, John Hirsch took 16, and Bryan Olen and Steve Jaeger took 15 each. Ullenberg was our medalist with a fine 76.

Our only individual award was received by John Hirsch for closest in 2 on the 16th hole.

Thanks to all of you who came out to compete today and in previous weeks as well. We have a good chance of putting that Team match trophy right back where it belongs, in the Currie Park clubhouse.
